Hacker School

Hacker School is currently accepting applications for our next four batches, including our two Summer batches, which are filling up quickly.
Hacker School is a 12-week writer’s retreat for programmers. We’re committed to improving the gender balance of the tech industry and maintaining an inclusive, safe environment for everyone. While we’re proud that 35% of Hacker School alumni and current batches are women, we’re intent on reaching our goal of 50%.

Hacker School’s mission is first and foremost to provide an optimal environment for people to work and collaborate on programming projects, we also work very hard to lessen the gender gap in tech through our recruiting partnerships with companies like eBay, Etsy and Stripe.

Hacker School is free for everyone, and we offer need-based grants of up to $7,000 to all women and folks from groups underrepresented in programming who are accepted. We also have several fantastic residents confirmed for our upcoming batches, including Neha Narula and Mark Jason Dominus (more info on them and our past residents here: https://www.hackerschool.com/residents).

Feel free to check out our FAQ and manual (links below) for more about us. Please let me know if you have any questions or if there’s any other information I can provide you with!
